NaNoWriMo Is Heeeereee

Wooahh... what is this thing? This... white space for typing? This purple website for... could it be, blogging? That ancient and foreign concept I've long forgotten how to do?!?

Let's just say that life has been happening and happening, and I'm lazy and I tend to have interesting priorities and somehow blogging didn't make the cut. I guess it's just not important anymore? Don't take it personally. I don't understand either.

But REALLY. This was bad. The entirety of October, I think. Maybe even September. I'll have to check. I really have no excuses except what I already said above. More specifically, it's been dance and work. I'm living the dream life as far as ballet goes and filling in all the extra hours with working to pay those very expensive dance bills. (And other bills, for that matter. It's not very fun to grow up.)

In the midst of all this craziness, I've been learning a lot about myself and the world around me, and it's been an interesting time of challenges, growing, changing, and understanding. It's been good. I only wish I'd blogged about some of those experiences, talked to you all a little more, kept in touch. You know. Those good things.

But alas, I did not! So here we are, on the eve of NaNoWriMo, with me talking myself into a corner and you most likely amazed that you're reading anything on the long-abandoned Twin Moment.  So, let's talk about NaNoWriMo. Seems fitting. I for one will be staying up until midnight tonight to start things off right. Thank you Twin for that glorious idea.  And I fully intend to write 50k or more and finish another sloppy, hurried novel. Woohoo!

What about you? Are you participating? Why or why not? Also, do include what's new. Because I feel like we haven't spoken in forever, and I miss you guys. Tell me how life is! How your novels are! Everything! Anything!

I'll be in the comments waiting.

See you there!

Hey, that's OK. I was kind of neglectful of my blog for a while there, and I've been worse in the past. Besides, I figure if Query Shark hasn't updated in like two and half weeks, *I* don't have to. ;)

NaNoWriMo is heeeeerrrrreeeee!!!! Crrrraaaaapppp! Hahaha. :) We should be writing buddies. I'm Laura_the_Wise on the site (same as my twitter handle).

Woo! You're back! I agree with Laura - it's okay to neglect your blog. When life gets busy, what's more important? Blogging about writing, or actually writing? (That's how I see it anyway).

Good luck with NaNo! I was going to do it, but my idea didn't really work out =/ So I'm just going to continue working on my WIP.

At this point, I don't know who you're apologizing to, about forgetting/not making time to post. I'm pretty sure we've all been dropping the ball quite a bit in recent months, so I figure we're all just failing together and that makes it okay. XP

I AM participating in NaNo. As soon as I finish fixing up my shiny new first two chapters + polishing them so they are actually shiny. =P (Plus writing the rest of my synopsis, but pshh whatever) I have a Very Important Person who will read said MS, so it must be in tip-top condition for said reading. And then querying. Querying. …Querying. O_O

QUERYING. *dies*

@Laura Hehehe, there you go! ^^ I just assume everyone else is keeping up. Silly me. And yay! I added you as a buddy.

@Matthew Hehe, I'm back. :) Definitely actually writing! You're on to something there. XD Thank you! I'm sorry it didn't work out for you. Maybe next year?

@Amanda This is true... and I don't know, either. I just feel apologetic. Yaay! Are we buddies on NaNo? I can't remember. And not I'm curious... who is this Very Important Person?? I thought you were already querying!?

@Maggie—I think we are buddies. I haven't been on NaNo yet because I haven't exactly started yet. I'm hoping to begin pouring out the words on Monday. =) And I call them a VIP because the reading hasn't been officially confirmed yet, and also I don't want to step on any toes by trumpeting it from the rooftops, lol. But I can totally DM you, if you're wishin' it. =)

Aaand…querying. I sent two queries in early September, they both got rejected because they sucked, and I've rewritten my first two chapters again since then. So I'm still getting those into a state of perfection, and still tinkering with my query and writing my synopsis(BLEH). I'll probably start querying either WHILE or directly AFTER VIP reads my MS. Until then…I'mma keep revising and writing NaNo. ^_^

Thanks for adding me! I'm going to need all the sense of writerly community that I can get, haha. I am going waaay out of my comfort zone for this one. What is your NaNo name?
